James Monroe, a Democratic-Republican, was known as “Era-of-Good-Feeling President.” Monroe was an Episcopalian, lawyer, and was a former U.S. Senator. At over 6 feet, Monroe was rather tall for his era. Monroe forever carried around a bullet in his shoulder after a gun shot wound in the Battle of Trenton.
