John Adams was our Second President and nicknamed “Atlas of Independence.” He served from 1797-1801 and held a degree from Harvard College in 1755. He was a Federalist and Unitarian. John was said to not exceed 5 feet in height. He suffered from Smallpox, poor vision, boils, and seasickness. Although he lost all his teeth, he refused to wear dentures. John married his third cousin, and his son, John Quincy Adams (who also became President), also married a cousin.
